Longshot: Can anyone compare the Busse Bunt currycomb to something I can get in the US?

An international student left a Busse “Bunt” currycomb in our barn’s grooming box. My horse loves it. He has been quite clear that this is the best curry of all of the curries in all of the world, and I assure you, he has tried most of them. It is a stout plasticky sort of a thing that appears to only be sold at tack shops in the EU. He likes that it is hard (as opposed to gummy) but not spiky. Since I don’t exactly feel like paying $40 in shipping on a $10 grooming implement, any chance someone familiar with the brand could compare it to something I could buy in the US?

The Haas “Pummel” or Haas “Der Gute” might work. They are plastic but not spikey. A friend gave me one and I was a skeptic because it’s hard, but my welsh pony LOVES the thing.

I understand the skepticism about how hard the curry is. I grabbed it out of the grooming box to knock some stubborn dirt off of my brush bristles, swiped my horse with it twice, and immediately had a horse in my lap as he pushed up against it saying “yup yup that’s the spot right there don’t stop.” It does a great job, too- I’m working more dust out of the coat than I thought he could possibly conceal.

I was looking at the Haas one but have never used a curry that has those kind of crossbars across the loops. I guess we will find out if it is acceptable unto the Curry Conoisseur!

agree with the haas suggestions. i had the same initial thought as you - no way my mare who hates being groomed (period) would like it. and omg she literally drools when i pull this out!

Your horse might also like the Epona Shed. My sensitive mare loves it… which I found baffling.

@Ghazzu That looks like a close match and the price is definitely right! Thank you.

Wow – a curry to match your mood! I guess blue is sad, red is embarrassed, black is angry. And purple? Is that happy?

Purple is for bruised.

Purple is for when you feel like royalty.

So I guess that’s my horse’s color.

Come to think of it, my horse’s barn name is Plum. I guess that means I have to try out the purple one asap!

Is it plastic or hard rubber?
