Looking ahead to 2020: Olympics in Tokyo!

I have always dreamed of going to Japan; and would love to attend the equestrian events at the Olympics in Tokyo. Is there any chance of getting tickets to dressage and eventing?

I am not a sports fan in general. In fact , it’s only dressage and eventing that truly interest me. Will it be possible to get tickets to these events if I am not in the equestrian elite or fabulously wealthy?

How does one begin to plan such an adventure? Could it really be as simple as calling a travel agent?

cannot imagine that it should be too hard to get equestrian tickets. Overall Japan is an expensive country to travel to so that will keep as many people away as Zika.

I personally see no reason to use a travel agent, You can book airfares and hotels on line directly. I suspect, knowing the Japanese , the venues will be amazingly easy to reach on the transportation system. If yyou want to book a package deal, I am sure they will show up, but you will probably pay a fair premium. It might be worth that if you are not a confident traveler.

Most hotels will not book more than a year out, so you have several years to plan, saving many pennies. Dont overlook homestay options

If you plan to combine seeing Japan along with visiting the olympics, I bet tourist trade will be down in non-venue locations. You might be able to get great deals.

dont expect american sized hotel rooms.

Yay! Thanks for the encouragement and the helpful info <3 <3 <3
