Looking at a foster failure, need some advice

Good news! The feral kittens are feral no more, got fixed and Big went to a new home!

Little is the problem. The problem is I want to keep her. She’s become so friendly and cuddly, purring and talking all the time.

I have plenty of space and finances are no issue but there’s one thing I’m concerned about, my big cat Lowell. He’s about 12 years old and has issues with bladder crystals. Thankfully, he’s only had 2 attacks in his life and it’s been years since the last one. But I’ve read that stress/changes in environment can trigger an attack.

Should I attempt to bring Little into the cat family? I have another cat but have no concerns about him. My plan is to have her in a big dog crate in the living room during the day and in the bathroom at night, taking her out regularly to play or whatever and watching Lowell’s reaction closely. Any sign he’s reacting physically and it’s bye-bye Little.

So what say you, COTH cat experts?

Younger and female should be fine. Your ‘meet and greet’ plan is ‘sound’ - with a little time, I believe everyone will be happy - happier even ! She is adorable and will be a beautiful cat and great companion.

Agree with Busy.

She’s awfully cute to be a failure. I think she chose her home and it happened to be you. :joy:

Congratulations and good luck!!

The suggestion for increasing the likelihood of a successful introduction a new dog to another dog is to have someone else bring it to the meet and greet. I am not sure about cats.
