Looking for a barn (SoCal)

Hey guys, I don’t know if there is rhyme or reason or a typical way to do this, but I’m in the market for a new lesson barn. I’ve never ridden in CA before, and most of my roots are on the east coast. Is there any recommended way of going about finding a new barn? Specifically in SoCal/LA/Santa Barbara (ideally in between LA and Santa Barbara!). Have car, gear, and experience, looking for an environment anywhere from simple lessons to a lease situation.

Would welcome any suggestions on how best to conduct my search! I feel like googling “riding lessons in socal” may not be totally fruitful.

Elvenstar in Moorpark and Foxfield in Westlake Village both have fantastic lesson programs and horses to lease. I’d start with either of those!

I would third Elvenstar. So many options, excellent training and what I think is extremely reasonable pricing.

Elvenstar is a great choice! They have quite a few shows onsite, too, so if you’re looking to show at all it makes it easy/less expensive. It’s a wonderful barn.
