Looking for a cabin for 2 people with stalls for 2 horses near GA.

We usually go up to Big South Fork and stay here: www.tnhorsecabin.com, but that is becoming such a long drive and with gas prices I’d like to stay somewhere closer for a horsey vacation. Anyone know of a nice place to stay with a cabin with a kitchen (and perferably a hot tub) with stalls and turnout for two horses? Of course we’re there to trail ride so I’m also looking for a place near a trail head

I’m thinking the Great Smokey Mountains or Blue Ridge may be nice, but I can’t find anything.

If anyone is looking for a place to stay in BSF, I couldn’t recommend the cabin above enough. Best vacation ever! It just takes us 6 hours to get there so I end up wasting 2 vacation days in just driving :frowning:

I’m not sure if this is closer, but it’s a pretty cool place.

I’ve stayed in a couple of places in the Smoky Mtns, but I’ve never been thrilled. I haven’t stayed at this place, but it looks okay.

Not done this, but could be fun, depending on budget http://biltmore.com/visit/equestrian/default.asp

I’ve ridden at Biltmore, and it is really nice.

It looks really nice. I got really excited because I saw that if you stay during a certain time, you can stay for 2 nights and get the 3rd night free… With the deal, the entire stay was over $900 before the horses and gratuity! There’s no way I can afford that :frowning:

I knew it was pricey. We did a hunter pace there, mostly just to get to ride there w/out breaking the bank.

Deep Creek Horse Camp in Bryson City TN. His cabins aren’t much- they are not likely up to your snuff but there are cabins literally within a 1/4 mile or so that are spiffier. He is less than a mile from a major trail head and it’s a quick haul to the Road to Nowhere Trail Head. I will never go to the Townsend side again, I really love James’ place at Deep Creek. He himself is a treasure, he knows that park like it’s a part of him.

several good places in Ga State parks - Hard Labor Creek has cabins and Watson Mills has a bunkhouse. google Ga state parks and you will find several others such as AH Stephens, Ft Mountain, and FD Roosevelt.

I stayed at HLC in '01 and the cabins are quite nice. 2 bedrooms with 2 double beds, 1 restroom, full kitchen, living room w/ TV, and screened in porch. You have to drive to the barns which are fenced in. Bring shavings for the stalls. The riding is good and lots of it. The town of Rutledge is very cute

We’re planning a trip this Oct and will go to Hard Labor Creek, Stephens, Watson Mills, and some days rides at the Ga Horse park (can ride the Olympic cross country course (rid eby the jumps).

Go to VRBO and type in “horses” as a search  You’ll come across MANY cabins in North Georgia in which you can bring your horses.

You could just vacation at our place

Only in a golf cart.

This isn’t GA but I have been to this place it is really nice, near Blowing Rock, NC and there are trails but I think you would have to trailer to them, but very close.

Equibrit - bummer - there are trails there though, right? If you’ve ridden there, how are they? How long a ride? etc

thanks in advance
