Looking for a H/J barn in Wisconsin...

So, I’m thinking of switching from SS lessons to H/J. If anyone knows the area, I would love some suggestions. Here’s some information: I live in southeastern WI (Waukesha area). I currently drive half an hour for lessons and would like to drive that distance or less because I have to pay for my own gas and to save time during the school year. I can do walk, sitting trot, posting trot, and canter in a saddle or bareback and in large groups and have no experience with jumping. Boarding isn’t an issue because I also don’t own a horse, so I would need a barn with lesson horses, preferably more than 2-3 so I can learn to ride on a variety of horses. My budget is somewhat flexible now that I have a job, but it can’t be super expensive because that’s what’s causing problems at my current barn. These aren’t all huge requirements, though some are. I just want as many recommendations as possible.

If you need more information, I can answer any questions.

Blue Spring Farm in Menomonee Falls has popped up a lot. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Thank you!

I should think there would be many barns in the Milwaukee area, though many might be fairly expensive. Hope someone is able to give you some ideas!

I may look into Milwaukee more but some of those barns are kinda far.

You should look into Integrity Farm in Oconomowoc, WI. They aren’t just a show barn and provide lessons (seems what you are looking for), and it’s only 25 minutes from Waukesha (not in the direction of Milwaukee to avoid traffic).

Thank you! I looked into it and it looks really nice from the website. I didn’t see much about the lessons though and I was wondering if you knew anything about pricing or if that’s something that I should email/call them about?

I would probably contact them regarding that information. Pricing changes sometimes more often than people update their site, so calling them would be the best way to get that information.

I’ll look into it then. Thank you!

Integrity is great. I’d ride there in a heartbeat

So, according to Mapquest, Integrity is a bit further than I’d like to drive, but I’m still gonna ask about prices and look into it. Thanks guys!

I have ridden with the trainers at Integrity, they’re wonderful. I went to school in that area and almost rode with them through my college career, but decided to save my money and take a bit of a break from riding (aside from my own horse when I was at home) while I was at school.

So you rode there? Is there anything you can tell me about their lessons? And did you take lessons on their horses or yours? If it was a long time ago you don’t have to answer. And sorry about all the questions, I just kinda wanna be cautious about where I go even though your the third person to say them.

Kathleen Caya is at Integrity! I don’t know much about her training these days, honestly, but I’m sure she worked hard to get there. A zillion years ago she and I were the token “poor” children in Pony Club together, cleaning stalls to get lessons and such.

I’ve heard a bunch of good stuff about her when I was doing research, but a lot of it’s gonna depend on price honestly. I might try to get in contact with Integrity this week

I’d also recommend Integrity. I rode with Kathleen when I was younger and just adored her. I would absolutely have my horse there if it was closer to my house and wasn’t so pricey.
It’s an absolutely beautiful barn and I’m sure you’d enjoy it.

I think I’ll definitely look into Integrity then. My mom’s unsure about the distance, but I think that’s something we can overlook if lesson prices are ok
