Looking for a show barn for lessons in the mid Hudson Valley

I’ve not been riding for almost a decade after having ridden and showed throughout New England (and at WEF) my whole childhood

Looking for anyone’s recommendations for barns that offer lessons and go to shows in the mid Hudson Valley! Big equitation and jumpers/show jumping lover here but I have been out of the saddle for almost ten years now and fear I’ll be starting from square one. I am in Saugerties for reference and would prefer the barn to be within an hour drive max. I see a lot of barns in the Rhinebeck, Clinton Corners area but need help narrowing down.

@Inimitable @Tini_Sea_Soldier1 Thank you for the comments recommending Glenview, are they accommodating of non-boarders / people picking riding back up again? And do you know of any other recommendations for similar places maybe slightly less fancy? Ralph Caristo is intimidating

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

The Caristos at Glenview are right there in town by HITS.

Yep, this is where I would go.

Crosswinds in Lagrangeville is just at the edge of your drive time but they are very good horse people and very welcoming. But Ralph in your backyard is kind of irresistible.

Not sure if she’s too far from you, but you might want to reach out to Leslie Bell-Teetor at Taconic Equestrian in Pine Plains. She’s great with adults, kind and friendly, and a good horseman!

I do not know the ins and outs of their program, but I imagine it depends on your level of riding, if you have plans to own or lease at some point, etc. I am friendly with Heather and she is simply a wonderful human - warm, kind, not the least bit intimidating. It would at least be worth a conversation with her to see if they are a fit for you and vice versa.
