Looking for an over the door bridle holder that won't crease the crown piece!

My barn has these great tack lockers for all the boarder’s stuff. Unfortunately they don’t have bridle holders inside so we all use those over-the-door bridle hooks. What really bugs me about those hooks is that they crease or dent the crown piece where it hangs over the hook.

My solution is to put a pool noodle piece over the hook but it’s hardly an elegant solution. Googling hasn’t yielded any options for bridle holders that can go over a good but is more of the “rack” not a hook form.

Any ideas? Could be that I’m just not searching for the right term.

Maybe this? https://www.kentucky-horsewear.com/us-en/eur/82149-05/bridle-rack-single

Or you could DIY that by finding a ladder hook to hang over the door, screwing a square of wood onto that, and screwing a normal bridle rack onto the wood.

Tuna cans, dog or cat food cans.
I knew a girl who rode western and she used a coffee can.

You could probably make one easily. Get two 2" brackets that fit over a 2" board. Attach them to a 1"x6"x 12-24" board and then attach whatever bridle racks you want to the front. Doing this you can stain or paint it any color you want.

We had hooks on a pegboard and put a large diameter section of PVC over the hook. It gave the bridles a nice rounded shape to sit on. And it was cheap!

Doink a piece of pool noodle on any nail or hook.

I use a PVC cap and then use command strips to hand them up if you can’t drill.

I mini-bungee’d a proper round bridle hook onto an over-door hanger. Don’t have a photo. The bridle hook is too broad, so I used the mini-bungees to tip it back a bit to help the bridle stay on while I carry the hook to where I want to hang it.

Also have an extra mini-bungee to fasten bridle, longe line, etc. to it – easier to walk the whole thing from here to there with everything firmly attached.

Not an elegant solution, if appearance is a concern. But it works.

That, nail or screw or glue whichever can size you want where you want them.
The inside of the can makes a good spot for small extras like a roll of black or scotch tape, rubber bands, a small knife.

Cut small round pieces of a round or mostly round post and nail them.

Hang a roll of duct tape over the hook and then hang the bridle over that.

What about something like this?

Lots of good suggestions! I’ll add one more if none of those work: in my trailer dressing room I have my horses’ show bridles hanging on the pegs with sheepskin halter fuzzies slipped over the pegs. They live in there pretty much permanently and so far this has kept the crowns from creasing.
