Looking for Barn in the East Bay (Northern CA)

I live in Oakland and am looking for a barn for my 17yo Belgian WB. Hoping to find a great facility 30-45 from Oakland in the East Bay (avoiding bridges if I can).

My guy’s got stiffness issues so good turnout is needed (which seems almost impossible to find).

Not looking for a training/lesson program, so I’m wondering if that opens anything up. Any smaller, hidden gems that have good turnout and arena(s)?

I may be looking for something that doesn’t exist, but thought I’d ask. I’ve been digging through past threads here and BAEN, but most farms seem focused on training programs, and we’re past our show circuit days. But happy to put him at a “A” barn if it’s a great facility.

Thanks for the help, COTHers!

Not sure what your budget is, but check out Hossmoor in Briones.
If you are considering, send me PM first and I’ll give you some more info.

Look in Brentwood/Knightsen/Oakley area. There are some lovely little places out that way.

My first thought was Hossmoor as well - one of the few with good turn out options.

We have limited turnout where I board but all stalls have paddocks, some fairly large. One double-size stall with a large paddock is empty now. Good trail access. It’s a bit rustic but also less expensive than many in the area. (Walnut Creek).
PM me if you’d like more info. Hossmoor would be a good choice too.

I have a friend who boarded at Hossmoor, I would also recommend that barn - good turnouts, nice footing, stall/paddocks, you don’t have to be in training…
