Looking for blue roan paint or breeder

Hi,

Anyone know of where to find blue roan paints for sale or reputable breeder? Looking for more of a sport horse type. Have looked at usual sites dreamhorse, equine.com horse clicks ect… Not much luck.

I agree that is bred for more in GB and Paints. Sport Horse breeders in the US and Canada, if they breed for color, don’t then cross them on greys…most want the color to stay not fade away. In GB they breed a lot of pinto sport crosses and I have seen pastel or roan pintos there. Unless you are talking about real roan paints and that is just in Paints…well maybe there might be a Gypsy Cob or two. good luck PatO

A classic blue roan paint is a tricky thing to accomplish. Mostly because roan and tobiano are different variations of the same gene. The “Kit” gene. Tobiano, roan, the many variations of white and sabino are all variations of the Kit gene. So a roan tobiano stallion’s offspring, assuming the mare had no color, would all be either roan or tobiano but none of them could inherit both genes.

Finding one in the sport horse variety, well, good luck with that.
