Looking for Chin-Chin bred stallions

A good friend of mine is breeding her mare, and both of us love Chin-Chin and feel that he may be a good stallion candidate. As he passed away I’m looking for a stallion who has Chin Chin lines.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I prefer stallions who are proven, but am very open to suggestions. Also, any info on what type of mare Chin-Chin (or his sons specifically) cross best with would be greatly appreciated!

Here are some sons of Chin Chin approved:
Arezzo VDL-KWPN

I feel like Rising Star Farm has Chin Chin blood in their lineup…maybe check them out?

This is Chin Win by Chin-Chin - Contendro last month at Münster He is 6yrs old:

Kathy at Majestic Gaits offers frozen for three Chin-Chin sons:

I’m sure she’d be able to tell you a lot about which would work for what type of mare. Give her a call. She’s really helpful!

I really like Classe. I’ve heard the frozen semen is good quality, but I haven’t tried it yet (but will be using it this year). I would imagine that each stallion will suit a slightly different type of mare best, as the mare-line is going to be just as important as what Chin Chin brings to the equation.

I have a young Chin Chin x Carthago Z x Major de la Cour stallion.

I believe Kathy Hickerson has an 08 stallion prospect by Chin Chin on her property. www.majesticgaits.com

Janko from VDL recommended Chin Chin or his son Zapatero for my mare Geneva. She is a refined, older style, blooded mare of Holsteiner pedigree standing about 16.1. There are photos on my website to get a visual of type.

Nice looking stallion.

Thanks for all the videos, Kareen. You do a great job.

Wow, Chin Win is really gorgeous… What a mover!

So I hope this isn’t too off topic - purely out of curiosity because I’m trying to learn… I read every now and again about bringing jumper blood back in when breeding for dressage. From the video (and my admittedly limited knowledge) it seems like this guy could be a good candidate for that… Any thoughts on him for producing a dressage prospect and what kind of mare he might complement?

Beautiful risingstarfarm, congratulations! what is this one’s name?

I just want to add that you couldn’t go wrong with Rising Star Farms’ young stallion. He is amazing in person. He’s a big boy, very well built, and his temperament is outstanding.

Thanks for all the replies! Looks like there are quite a few options out there. Chin Win is beautiful, and so is the stallion at Rising Star. I have Zapatero on my list already, but it looks like I’m going to have to add to it!

The mare is gelder/tb (reg. CWB), and has a good front end, powerful, correct jump but needs improvement in her movement. I would like to see her back shortened up, her legs lengthened (she has good bone and straight legs), and of course a good temperment is very important. I’d love it if the foal was a bit bigger then she is, as she is only 16hh. Any suggestions or input?

Global Equine Sires has Phin Phin , Chin Chin-Abdullah-Winnetou.

Kingridge Stables has Double Diamond whos sire is Nabab de Reve and his dams sire is Chin Chin.

Fo me the best chin chin son in holland is VDL Arezzo.

I love the Zapatero’s and have a super 2 year old gelding. www.majesticgaits.com/felix.htm

Arezzo and Classe are super nice. Classe is probably going to be more refining.

We have them all in stock.

Check out this Zapatero 2011 filly foal out of a 16 hand Dutch mare by Great Pleasure (Grannus). She was Champion jumper foal at DG Bar keuring last year.

He really gave the foal a quick and powerful hind end with good bend in joints. Filly has short back and longer legs then dam.

My 6 year old Indoctro mare is in foal to Zapatero for next year as well.

Nice one! I love the Zapateros.
