My horse is on stall rest and therefore does not need the very nice, mostly alfalfa hay he’s currently getting. I’m looking for some nice grass hay, with a little alfalfa would be ok, but mostly just something he can chew on. Unfortunately I cannot take more than about 100 bales at a time- could pay for a load this large to be delivered or I can pick up a much smaller load.
Thanks!
Call Giles in Georgetown. They have an orchard/alfalfa mix. It’s more orchard grass then alfalfa. It’s $3.95/bale
if you still need some check out craigslist…lots of ads up.
If you are still looking-- lots of Brome grass hay available from last year’s cut in Cynthiana. About $5/bale, 65lb bales. Most horses love it, though some of the “alfalfa snobs” take a few days to adjust.
Should start cutting this year sometime in June, if you want fresh stuff from the field.
