I got some a couple of weeks ago near Gettysburg, not sure if he still has hay … but might be worth checking.
717-677-7700 He had some very nice 2nd cutting orchard and also some 1st cutting very reasonable.
We just drove up to Hanover, Pa and got a load from a farm there, Pleasant Hills Farm. He’s got thousands of bales of beautiful orchard grass that he’s getting $8.50 for 45lb bales. We bought cheaper, first cutting oc/timothy for $5.25/bale but knew before we drove up what to expect.
I would have loved to get the more expensive stuff. He told me he sells mostly to the New Jersey tracks and was very upfront on the telephone about what hay he had and the quality of it before we drove 2 1/2 hours sight unseen.
We went up through Frederick and Gettysburg and it was an easy trip (although I did need directions from Hanover Shoe Farms - one road on my Google map was closed, convieniently across the street from their main entrance). That route was 8 miles further than if we’d gone around the DC beltway, around Baltimore and up the northwest extension but it was a better drive with the trailer. It takes you past Thurmont and the Seton shrine & college, at the turnoff for Ski Liberty is Chubby’s BBQ on Rt 15, stop there if you get a chance, the bbq was great and the cream of crab soup to die for!
