Looking for horse boarding in Denver, Colorado

I am going to be relocating to Denver Colorado area from Ohio hopefully by april. I am currently here in Arvada searching for places to board my almost 20yr old Thoroughbred gelding. I have already been to and seen the following barns:
Rising Star Equestrian
Evening star farms
G & J Lazy P
Standley Lake Stables
Silver Quarter Acres
Shiloh Farms

Looking to stay in Arvada or south west of there. Learned about a plutonium plant that used to be near those top 4 barns I listed. Even though I don’t see tumors growing on the horses there, I tend to be leery of that area now. Lol So I am leaning more toward golden Co area for boarding.

If anyone knows of any barns that they can recommend in the western part of Denver, please let me know. My budget is $300-$400 to start, full care a must. Trail access, arenas would be great, must include hay and grain. Lesson barn would be preferred that has lesson horses so that I can take lessons! jumping or dressage or heck even open to western. My horse is now retired from competition and will strictly be my pleasure and trail mount. So trail access would be great, and doesn’t seem rare from the barns I have seen so far. Thanks everyone! I am here in Colorado until the 5th!

Let me just say as well, that even though all the barns I have seen are great and wouldn’t really mind boarding at any of the ones I’ve been to, most of them are full! So the reason for this post is so that I can have a list of barns to call when I am ready to move, starting with #1, and if they are full, then I move on to second best, and so on… I am in no way bashing the barns I have already been to, any of them seem capable of housing and caring for my horse.

My mare is boarded at Bibber Creek Stables in Golden. All the horses are well fed with good hay (grass, alfalfa, or a combo) and pelleted grain. It’s not fancy but it’s nicely maintained. I’ve seen western, hunter/jumper, and dressage there. It’s pleasant. The arenas and turnouts are dragged regularly (daily?). There’s a large outdoor arena, an indoor arena, several round pens, a large turnout, a couple of smaller turnouts, trail course, and trails. Board options and prices vary from stalls in the barn to various size pens with sheds. Ali, barn manager, does a nice job, as do the other staff. My mare is happy there. If you like I can meet you there. I would suggest you contact Ali and she can give you the business info and show you around. I’ll pm the number to you.

I didn’t see it on your list, so Table Mountain Ranch is just up the road from Shiloh and has all the things you are looking for. Only field board would be in your price range there - I think it is $375 for field and hay. Runs are $100 more and then stalls are $580. The property is right on the trails to Table Mountain, just like Shiloh. I am not sure if it has any advantages over Shiloh, but it is probably worth checking out while you are in the area!

Thanks for the replies! Much appreciated! I might be able to go above my price range for the right facility. Shiloh was nice! I’m sure TMR is as well. I will check out BibberCreek Monday or Tuesday. Thanks again!

I’m bringing this back to life a few years later…does anyone have thoughts on Stockton’s Plum Creek Stables?
