Looking For Info On "Lucky Blue Chips" and "Mike's Mystery"

I am a Warmblood breeder in need of some help.

I have a mare with a few holes in her pedigree, I have them all figured out and DNA tested with the exception of one Thoroughbred Line.

I am trying to find a registration/ tattoo number for a mare named “Sky” (genetic I know). I am sure this was not her registration/racing name. Her Sire is Lucky Blue Chips and Dam is Mike’s Mystery. I can’t find any information about either Thoroughbred. Both would have been born before 1980 so I am going back a few years here.

I have checked the standard locations, all breed pedigree a few other databases ect, googled until I can’t google anymore.

If anyone has any suggestions before I contact the jockey club it would be greatly appreciated!

There is a Lucky Blue Chips QH foaled 1/1/1969 in Equibase.

There is also a Mike’s Mystery TB foaled 3/31/1981in Equibase but this one appears to be a H (if I am interpreting Equibase correctly). Raced in 1985.

Equineline is the data source for the Jockey Club.

The only Mike’s Mystery is the 1981 stallion that WMW found: Mike’s Mystery

The Lucky Blue Chips QH is a gelding.

He may have foals, but none are listed in Pedigree Query (and neither is he.) You can purchase his get report from equineline…you’d want report #33.

Do you have any more of the pedigree?

There is a 1980 mare name Sky but the pedigree is not the one you’ve shared.

The Jockey Club is generally pretty reluctant to give out registration numbers, if that’s your end goal.

What parentage is known (of your mare, not Sky)?

You have to remember that equineline online information is not complete. If a horse didn’t race or produce racing descendants, their information may not be in equineline. I think the best bet is to contact the Jockey Club directly and see if they have the horses that you are looking for.

That’s not true.

For EQUIBASE, yes. That is often missing unraced horses.

Equineline is the Jockey Club’s data source.

Well, the Jockey Club must have added more horses because I know for a fact that the Equineline online database was not complete in the past.
