Looking for information on Abby's Slew or Payton's Wildcat

Hi guys,

Turning to COTH to help a friend out.

A friend of mine back home in Chicago owned an OTTB named Miss Spygon - she died suddenly over this past weekend and my friend is now looking to get information on either or both of her offspring, Abby’s Slew and Payton’s Wildcat. She would like to at least know what they’re up to, but would also like to offer a home to either or both of them, if they need it and if their owner/s would be looking to retire and/or sell them.

Last we were able to find out, Abby’s Slew raced in OH on 12/7 under Mike Rone, but has since changed hands at least twice. We have found nothing out about Payton’s Wildcat - I can’t find anything on that one past 2012.

Both out of Miss Spygon (IL) - 2004 bay mare by Sultry Song out of Spycial (Spy Signal)

Can the amazing and awesome COTH sleuths help me help my friend? Any information on their whereabouts or current connections would be great.

Hmm…I don’t have any information for you but maybe start posting on OTTB connect and other facebook groups like that? Sometimes that will lead to someone who knows someone who knows the connections of the horse. You can also try contacting the racing office at the track where Abby’s Slew was running and see if they have contact information for Mr. Rone. I just tracked down a very special horse I used to gallop and ended up bringing him home this past weekend thanks to networking through a ton of people and finally finding someone who could help me. Since Abby’s Slew appears to be still racing, your friend can create an Equibase virtual stable for free and add the horse. There will be an email whenever she works, is entered, or races. Not sure how you came up with the fact that she has changed hands twice this month? But the next time she races you’ll be able to see the current connections.

I conjured up the fact that she changed hands twice this month by talking to her owner at the last start who said he sold her, and then to the person he sold her to…who also said he sold her.

So this is an old post, but I came across it- Abby’s Slew was last in Alberta, Canada that I knew of. If you want more information let me know.
