Looking for inspiration - Stock Trailer Modifications

Do yourself a favor, and move tires to the top of your list. Most trailer tires are only good for about 5 years. Tires do come with a date code on them, so it is easy to tell how old they actually are. The majority of blowouts and tire failures happen due to dry rot, which can be present even though it is not very obvious.

Welding, electrical and tires are at the top of the list. I already have some buddies of mine looking around for good tires to use, The overall plan is to get the tires and store them inside until the trailer is ready to go on the road and then do the bearings and tires right before. The trailer won’t actually be used until October at the earliest or even possibly Spring.
