Let me just start out this post by saying he was NOT stolen or involved in any sort of trickery, I sold him, I am just wondering how he is doing because I have lost track of him.
Major Domo, previous/possibly current barn name “Major”, is a huge bay TB/Percheron cross, Thoroughbred sire on a Percheron dam. He was inspected and is registered as an American Warmblood. I believe his year foaled was 1996 but my memory may be faulty on that. I sold him to a lady in Mettawa, Illiinois around 2000/2001 and heard through the grapevine he was sold shortly thereafter to an older gentleman in Wayne, Illinois and was being used as a hilltopper horse with the Wayne DuPage hunt. I have heard that the man loved him a great deal but I don’t know who he is and would love to know how my former horse is doing, don’t want to interfere in his life if all is going well but would consider a “come-home” policy if it is not.
Major was 17.2-18HH when I sold him, and he was 4-5 years old at that time. I do not have a copy of his papers and last Coggins handy because of a house fire we had, but I can prove myself as his original owner of record. Major was becoming quite a jumper when I sold him and would hack out just about anywhere. I am also the person who broke him to ride and he has a few other interesting tricks I could tell the owner about if they don’t already know…for one, this gentle giant can bow! He was trained through Level 1 Parelli and started Level 2 (yes, he can do a lot of groundwork AND be functional too) and had jumped a completely unfamiliar cross country course clear with one prospective buyer shortly before sale. He is a self-loader who has also been trained by me to back up onto a trailer. I expect he has a lot more mileage on him now from what I have heard. He is very distinctive and generally docile but a big mover!
I would very much like to know how Major is doing, for good or for ill. Please PM me with any information you might have that would put me in touch with his current owner. Thanks!
