Mr. Thrifty would be 15 now, I believe. He last ran at Arlington Park in Chicago (but he was based at Hawthorne with trainer Frank Kirby). He was a big, beautiful guy who probably retired with some soundness issues. I tried to buy him privately several times but was turned down. If anyone knows anything about him please let me know.
