looking for OTTB "Mr. Salty", aka "Jack"

Hello,

I’m new to Coth, and first want to introduce myself - I have an Arab named Bacardi & a TB named Phlash. Both are my “forever horses”.

Anyway…I am looking for an OTTB named “Mr. Salty” who was sold to someone in MA on 12/20/08. Apparantly, he was sold to someone who was going to try & resell him, and I’m trying to find him before he goes to an auction.

His barn name is Jack, he’s bay (no white), about 16.1, and very “built”. He also has an enlarged front left knee that was the result of an injury, but he’s sound. He’s 9 years old. His tattoo starts with a D, but I don’t know the #.

Jack wasn’t my horse - I jus recently learned there was a chance that he’d been sold to a “questionable buyer”, but have no information on who actually bought him. If someone knows of his whereabouts, please let me know - if he’s safe, and in a good home, than that is wonderful - but if he’s headed to an auction, than I’d like to be able to save him.

What job would this horse have? Did you post here because he’s a hunter/jumper? If he’s not a hunter/jumper you might ask the moderators to move your post to Off Course. A more hysterical title might help, too, something like “Possibly in danger of slaughter …” You can change the title by hitting “edit” & then “go advanced” after you get to the edit screen of your original post.

Oops… Evalee Hunter, you’re right - I should have posted under the “Off Course” thread, not the H/J one. He didn’t really have any “job” at the time he was sold, wasn’t ever shown. I just sent an email to the moderators asking for the thread to be moved - and as soon as it is, I’ll change to title to a more urgent one. I’m a greenie on Coth!

2boys - I started a thread on the NE Bulletin board looking for him, and have been looking for responses, but haven’t seen anything about anyone buying this horse. If you do see anything (maybe there was something about him on a different thread), please let me know.

I’m really, really scared he’ll be picked up by a kb, and I cannot stand that thought. I just hope he’s ok.

This isn’t quite what you’re looking for, I know, but there was a Mr Salty (note, no period after the Mr) by Salt Lake (!!) who last ran at Suffolk late 2005.

I don’t know what he’s been up to or who with since then, but I wish you luck in your search.

Barn Fairy - That IS the Mr Salty I’m looking for! Didn’t realize he didn’t have a period after the Mr. At least now I know to searchg for “Mr Salty” - that could help. Keep your fingers crossed.

We actually just set up this new missing horses forum, to help folks track down their horses, so we’ve moved your thread here.

Right now, we have it set up so only the thread starters can post updates on a thread, so they can provide updates when/if they get new info, but that format may change.
