Play Doh went missing in the Patapsco State Park near the train tracks close to Henryton Road and Marriottsville Road in Marriottsville, Maryland on Friday, May 27th around 12 noon and hasn’t been seen since.
Play Doh’s owner, Susan Crawford, who was camping and riding out with friends from the nearby League of Maryland Horsemen, said part of the trail gave way while they were riding, knocking her and the horse to the ground.
“So he slipped down and I slid off of him. He got spooked and ran off,” said Crawford.
Crawford says he went running up the hill close to the Marriottsville Road parking area.
For more than a week now the search has been in full effect, including fellow riders, helicopters, drones, animal communicators, search dogs, etc.
DESCRIPTION of Play Doh:
10 y.o. chestnut (reddish brown) Paso Fino horse with NO white markings, 14 hands tall (small horse). He has small feet (size 0 boot) and front shoes on. He does have some grey hair in this forelock and an old scar on his left hip. He had his tack on as seen in the pictures - lime green and blue bridle, chest plate and saddle when he ran away. He might not have his tack on anymore. This park is new to him and being a very “independent” horse, he might nor seek other horses and/or people.
To all horseback riders, hikers on foot, bike riders, etc in the park and in all surrounding areas - PLEASE be on the lookout for this horse! He could be tied up (have gotten caught) deep in the brush somewhere so look and listen carefully or he could still be running around free, eating grass and drinking from the river and streams, and just not letting himself be seen.
Please also be on the look-out at any and all horse auctions, horse dealers, barns, etc in the area and surround states!
Please call Susan Crawford if found only!! Her cell phone # is 443-831-6527
