I would snap this boy up. Of course money would have to be no problem…
Looking for some different options to get a pinto buckskin/palomino WB... [Update, contract signed!]
Saw this ad on Facebook and thought of this thread! Buckskin tobiano colt for sale.
Super super excited to say that I’ve signed what I feel is a very fair contract!!
I decided to go with Golden Edge Sporthorses and Pallido Blu. I was in between which mare to use; one with 4 younger less proven foals by Pallido Blu, available for 2024, or a half-sister with only 1 foal from Pallido Blu who is older and going exactly how I’d want, who is currently in foal to Pallido Blu. I spoke to 5 owners of Pallido Blu babies, 2 of which are owners of full siblings to the 2024 mare’s foal plus the owner of the 2023 foal’s only full sibling. They absolutely love their horses!
Stephanie was awesome to work with - she offered to give me first right to the 2023 foal, and agreed that I’d be able to vet it first before saying “yes”. If I don’t want to take it for literally any reason, the 2024 pairing is mine. No additional cost or anything for this.
All of the mare’s expenses + all of the foal’s routine vet and farrier fees up until weaned are included in the price (foal will be insured immediately also). She also allows a few weeks after the foal is weaned to make sure it’s okay and not stressed out.
She agreed to wording in the contract that the foal must not only be healthy but functional (maybe should have expanded on what that means). This is of course in addition to the standard LFG + any monies paid put towards another breeding if something catastrophic happens.
I’m thrilled! I might have a baby by June!! I think I’d be a fool to not accept this year’s foal if it matches what I’m looking for and vets well.
This is the full sibling to the 2023 foal: https://www.instagram.com/phoenixandphinn/

(I did get permission from both owners to share!)
Thanks so much for all the advice, everyone!! I’m still open to more!
Congrats!!!
Congrats! Palladio Blu is a nice, correct stallion that produces ammy friendly offspring with a nice jump and has offspring on the ground to compare to. If memory serves correctly, his dam is by Rainbow who has a similar damline to the pinto WB stallion at Broad Hill Run Farms. If you’re interest you can look at their website to see how that damline produces there, too.
Thanks guys! I did heed everyone’s warnings and I do still know that anything could happen at any time.
Yep, his dam is by Rainbow! I actually did look at Broad Hill as well and honestly, their stallions do seem to present better… I wish I had some really nice jumping pictures of Pallido Blu, but his offspring at least are able to speak for themselves. They are all definitely ammy friendly!
Congratulations!! That is super exciting and sounds like a great opportunity to take or pass on this year’s and have an opportuniy for next year if you pass. Good luck, hope this or the next is everything you’re hoping for! Keep us posted
