I had a wonderful gelding by Sun King (tb stallion) that I tragically lost, but the others that I have seen, which is only a small handful, are lovely and sporty. I’d love to find another to event - Does anyone have any leads? There probably aren’t that many on the ground as I believe he’s only been at stud for a few years (I think 2009 was his first foal crop). Mine had never raced, but I believe some of his babies have been relatively successful at the track.
A quick google found one for sale in NY … any particular geographic region?
I did contact them about that one but they are wanting to sell him to a racing home. I am in VA but willing to travel. He stood in KY at Darby Dan and now stands in LA at Elite Thoroughbreds.
Ah, too bad. And strange since he’s an unraced coming four-year-old who isn’t even fully registered with the JC.
You’ve probably also noticed the one on the CANTER Mid-Atlantic Charles Town listings? There’s a four-year-old for sale as a broodmare, but it doesn’t say if that’s because she’s unsound for riding or just because she was bred last year and successfully foaled this year.

I got on this one a few times in the breaking process. She was small, but quiet and very well balanced. Haven’t seen her in well over a year. She hasn’t turned into much racehorse. The breeder is still the owner, as of her last start; Mrs. Lail seemed to care a great deal for her horses and might be willing to rehome.

I don’t see either of the current connections regularly, so I don’t know what the status of these two is… Sorry. The filly is probably still at Turfway Park with William Helmbrecht. Her owner could have taken her back to the farm in Lexington, though.
The colt is almost definitely still at Laurel Park with King Leatherbury. Caffeinated might be willing to ask around there? (I would expect that horse to be worth a little more at this point because he’s still running well.)
