Tons of places to get hay here, but its so $$$$. Anyone want to look into sharing a load, or know where to go to get good hay, and reasonable prices?
Hey Naters,
My BF has a client that just brought T&A in for $8/bale and I think he’ll deliver it for that. He had 300 bales left earlier this week. The BF said the bales looked decent and weighed roughly 60lbs. Not top notch quality but good for the price. Also, if you are interested in O/A, I found someone who is bringing a load in March 9th and will deliver it for $10/bale. Bales are supposed to be 60lbs, and they don’t mind if I wait to commit until I see it.
Let me know if you want the contact info for either.
Sounds great! ! He will deliver to FL? Or is he already in Florida?
Already in FL. I sent you a PM with the phone numbers!
Thanks! PMd you back!!
Did anyone else do a double take at that subject line?
LOL… I did actually when I was reading Las Olas’ reply.
I thought about changing it but figured it may get some attention, so left it alone…
snork!
las can you send me those numbers as well?
I Pm’d you the contact info. Was having trouble with COTH loading, so let me know if you didn’t receive it.
Las Olas did you get my PM?
Got it and sent you some contact numbers. The O/A I was referring to doesn’t arrive until March 9th. The guy with the T/A is already here and apparently had some O/A also. Not sure what’s left, tho. I saw the T/A and it was good for the price, had some other grass and a little red clover in it. I haven’t seen his O/A.
I just got some timothy from Ricks on 60th Avenue, and it was awful. Garbage in it, and mostly dead-brown-straw looking. My horse wouldn’t eat it, I threw it to the cows, they didn’t eat it.
Rick said that he would exchange the bale, but I have to go rake up all that crap now… …
I bought bales there before and wasn’t impressed. They weren’t as bad as yours sounded, tho! Have you tried Larsen’s?
Not yet, and still waiting to hear back from the guy you PMd me about… If you know of a good farrier, also, please share!
I am on the hunt for soem nice and reasonable O &A…can you PM me too?
I have names of good farrriers if you are still looking.
I cannot find the PM ,but I am hoping Las Olas Can PM me again (sorry) with the number.
Definitely will need a good farrier
Hay
I bought a few bales from a new place off Hwy 27, just west of I75. It is in the old “rustic furniture” store, right after Nelson’s trailers, and before Barbarzon’s. His prices are good and the more you buy, the better discount he gives. His TOA was very nice and good size bales, just 11.50. He does sell TEFF which my horses liked. FYI, Just go by the prices in the trailer, not inside.
I heard US Hay down in Summerfield has very nice heavy weight bales, but on the pricey side.
Naters/hluing,
I sent you guys PMs. You may have partially typed ones also. As I was typing, I heard this beeping noise and I thought it was the tv. It didn’t stop and I was wondering why it sounded so familiar. Then, bam, it hits me - Holy Crap it’s the foalert! So, I just delivered a healthy little chestnut filly, but when I came back to the computer, it had timed out. Let me know if you didn’t receive them.

How much did they weigh? This guy I found is $8/bale and the bales are 55#. He may be out by now, tho. As soon as the load of O/A comes in (60# bales @ $10/bale) I’ll let everyone know if the quality is good.
