Looking for T&A near Fayetteville, NC

Looking for good quality Timothy Alfalfa, at a reasonable price.

Thanks!

You’re kidding, right? I’ve never seen any around here, let alone at a good price

Your best bet is Aberdeen Feed or Southern Pines feed. Pete at Aberdeen is usally quite a bit cheaper (on feed too), so they’d be my first choice. Give them a call…they close at noon on Wednesday. LL in Coats has hay, but they’re usually a whole lot more expensive than even SP.

I buy mine a ton at a time, so that makes it cheaper too.

bump

Coats is not too far from Fayetteville, maybe an hour? Double LL Feed and Tack there on 50 has good quality hay of all kinds. Not sure what you mean by “reasonable” bu T & A in NC isn’t going to be cheap since it is not grown here and must be trucked in, making the cost quite a bit more than local hay. We do have a farmer close to us that grows just alfalfa and does a pretty good job of it, his is $8 per bale.

Look on the NC Ag site. It has tons and tons of hay growers listed. I bought about 15 bales of T&A mix from someone in Wake Forest about a month ago. http://www.ncagr.gov/HayAlert/Advanced_HaySellers.asp?TypeAd=sellers

It was kind of green. Both horses love it but my old horse projectile pooped it.

Am I the only person who sees that you are looking for T&A and has a completely inappropriate thought?

Probably not. . . .

LOL… well, my horse is a gelding, so he probably isn’t looking for T&A

Hey, Naters~ Did you ever find any T&A? If you’d be willing to do straight timothy, I’ve been in contact with a guy up in Sanford who’s cutting & baling at his uncle’s farm in Vermont right now. I’ll be making a trip up that way next weekend for about 50 bales. His price is between $5 & $5.50. Just thought I’d pass that along.

Found this in the Raleigh CL…
