Looking for TB mare

It is with great sadness that I post this story and thread. When my daughter was 10 years old, we leased a 15.3 h mare, named Sensyrias, and she evented this little mare who had a heart of gold, and did quite well despite the mare’s “hotness”, she was a good girl and always tried, sometimes too hard:) She was also blind in her right eye. I spent two years with this mare watching my daughter grow as a rider. The owner took her back when my daughter was ready to move up. The mare had a lovely foal by Formula One about 18 months ago.

The owner could not find anyone to take the horse which she was offerering for free because she was older, so she donated the mare to Stoneleigh Burnham School this fall. From all reports the mare was doing great. However, just last week, a friend stopped by the school to see her, and she was told she was no longer there. SBS had apparently sold her to a dealer, and did not contact the owner, even though she had said she would take her back if it did not work out. SBS Would also not give out any dealer contact info. The problem here is that she did not get this stipulation in writing.

I tried to help the owner find her, called all the dealers, did lots of posts etc. but sadly I think she is gone…she was an 18 year old TB mare with a blind right eye, dark bay, small star, lots of eventing experience. I just need to get this out and mourn…I am so sad, I don’t know what else to do.
