Looking for used tack/items/riding apparel for charity event

Hello, all! For the 16th year, I am helping host a Saddle Up for St. Jude event that will include a silent auction. The silent auction is where we make most of our monetary donations, which all goes to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Do you have tack you are no longer using? We can put it to good use! We also take usable riding apparel (though, please, no styles that are so old no one will bid on them). Dog items? Yep. Farm items? You bet! So please, if you can go through your barn and your tack closets, and find anything you can donate to this event, I would be grateful. I have a husband who went through cancer treatment when we were first married, and it was a scary event. I can only imagine what it would be for a parent of a child who has cancer. Please help if you can.

The event is on September 21st this year. I can send tax receipts, but as a warning ahead of time, I do work full time and am also taking university classes, and riding/showing some, so while I promise a receipt, it may not come immediately. COTH forum members have been great in the past, and I thank everyone who has ever donated.

Please PM me for a mailing address, and thank you so much for your consideration.

I received two boxes this weekend, so thank you very much to my two donors. I really appreciate it. The items will do well in the auction. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What types of items are most sought after? I have two totes of things that didn’t sell after two tack sales.
PS I’m not a troll I promise, I just can’t unlock my other account because I can’t access the old email account… I used to be LovelyBay

Hi, there. Honestly, just about anything as long as it is functional and useful. We get all kinds of donations for horse, rider, barn, dogs, heck kitchen supplies, automotive…haha. We strive for horsey-related, but when we get non-horsey stuff, it sells well, too.

There’s still time if anyone can make a donation of “just about anything” for this wonderful cause, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our Saddle Up for St. Jude event means a lot to me. This is my 16th year, and I hope it’s a good one.
