Looking to join a Hunt club but think I am too far away

Are there any hunt clubs in Southern VA? I may even be willing to drive up to the Richmond area. Thanks!!

There is a private pack in Brunswick County. Red Oak Hounds

James River Hunt is also in southern VA, but not sure of the location of their fixtures.

Noting your location on your original post, Princess Anne?

If you’re on the Eastern Shore check out Wicomico Hunt

Caroline Hunt in Doswell would be a hunt to check out or as jawa said, Princess Anne down on the peninsula.

Best resource to check out first is http://www.mfha.org/home.html MFHA website which has a searchable map and a geographic list. It is fun to read anyway.

It really depends on what you consider too far away. I regularly drive 2 1/2 hours but my cousin only drives 20 minutes and thinks I am crazy.

Contact Sali Gear at Calypso Farm in Virginia Beach. She knows all of the locals who hunt and the old Princess Anne hunt used to be stabled on the road where her farm is located. She is also a Pony Club leader in the area so some of her students may also hunt. Say hello to her from Amber

I did this kind of commute often when I lived in VA too. These days I cheerfully haul a minimum of 6 hours one way to go hunting- though I do not do that for just ‘one’ day, I’ll do it when there are several consecutive days scheduled.
