Lord Z foals - any experience or thoughts?

As a Christmas present to myself I am looking at a filly by Lord Z out of a mare by Lupicor x Heartbreaker.

I have done my internet search and understand he is a highly reliable jumper sire. What I am interested in is personal experience with personality of the foals. I am an experienced rider but still an amateur - I don’t send my youngsters away for training and am not looking for a prospect I can’t handle on the ground due to spooky/hot tendencies. I can handle most things under saddle it is the “enjoyableness” on the ground I am looking for.

Any stories you are willing to share would really be appreciated!! Any thoughts on this bloodline combination?

Are you able to visit the dam of the foal in person? That would be my starting point if I were concerned about temperament. Even if the pedigree seems like it should be “quiet”, the mare’s personality has so much effect on the foal that it is worth checking out if you can. I’ve known several Heartbreakers that were not easy horses, but I don’t have any personal experience with Lupicor or Lord Z horses.

A friend has a Lord Z gelding who was just started before having an easy winter. He is a dead quiet, born broke kind of guy. Lovely mover and up for anything. Went for a hack the third time he had a rider up and was sane with no spook. He is a big rangy colt who is probably going to finish out at 17.1 + He has a nice trot and a big rolling easy canter and free jumped with nice natural style. I really like that you have the Lupicor / Heartbreaker lines in the mix…all offer pretty reliable jumping tendencies.

Look at the dam!
