lost favorite winter glove :( Replacements?

Lost one of my favorite winter riding gloves. They were Good Hands, fleece lined leather gloves, quite slim and very flexible, but still pretty warm if I could keep my hands warm before putting them on.

What are your favorite winter riding gloves? Ideally leather or leather-like exterior with a lining.
Is silk really as warm as fleece? I have seen some silk lined gloves, but I just can’t imagine they have as much insulation.

I really like the SSG 10 Below riding glove. They are not leather, but are leather like and are waterproof and windproof. We get some pretty cold winters and I find them to be pretty good at keeping my fingers warm and they are flexible enough that I can still undo latches and gates. Which is huge for me as I always used to take my gloves off to do so and my fingers would freeze.

If you’re looking just for riding and you’ll stay pretty dry, then I would suggest the Back on Track riding gloves. They keep my hands warm and flexible. The only downside is they are cloth and they are not waterproof.

I’ve tried so many winter gloves…my current favorites are the SSG Pro Show leather winter gloves. Flexible and thin enough to ride in, and warm enough to do barn chores in Maine winters. Somewhat weather proof as well.

The SSG 10 below are just too thick and tight and my hands still get cold in them.

I have an old pair of Good Hands - I saved them for riding and did everything else with a different pair until the insulation got too packed down to keep me warm enough. :frowning: I still use them in less cold weather.

My current go to gloves are a broken in pair of fleece and thinsulite lined deer skin “rancher” style gloves. But they have to be broken in before the really cold weather arrives or they’re too tight.

I have a range of winter gloves to go with the range of temperatures we get here. From a single layer polar fleece through lined pigskin, the deerskin ranchers, to SSG 10 Below (and Greenhawk knock-off).

I love the SSG 10 below for barn chores and barn use, but I find them much too thick for riding.

I recently purchased roeckl winter gloves (on sale) and they are fantastic. Thin warm, excellent fit and dexterity but durable at the same time. I have had them for a couple months now and, to be honest, will happily pay full price for their replacement when needed. Amazing gloves.

Did you lose it in Middleburg, VA? Someone found one in the Safeway parking lot and put it on face book.

Oooh I wish I did, in Ann Arbor, MI though :frowning: Hope that gloves owner found their missing one!

I always seem to lose my right glove, I have resorted to cheap leather winter gloves from Walmart or Winners/Marshals. It hurts too much to lose one expensive glove!

For riding, I like the Ariat insulated Tek Grip gloves (there is also a non-insulated version of the Tek Grip). They’re flexible and reasonably warm, at least to 40 degrees or so.

Below that I wear the SSG 10 below gloves. They are warmer (although not really good to 10 below, unless we’re talking Celsius), but also bulkier.

I just got a pair of Heritage Spectrum winter gloves at Dover for 30% off the sale price. So far I like them as much as my SSG Pro Show Winter gloves except that they don’t have the knit cuff which helps when you have very long arms. I’ve ridden in them a few times and they are have a pretty nice amount of feel.

This https://www.heritagegloves.com/produ…ce-glove-plum/ is my favorite winter glove. They run large – I normally wear a size 7.5 glove, and the size 6 fits perfectly.

SSG 10 below are my go to gloves. Found mine on ebay for under 20 bucks. I wash and re waterproof them every spring when I do my rain jacket qnd the horses sheets and then put them up for winter. I have had them probably 2yrs. I would not ride in them though :/.
