Lower-sodium treats sized for a puzzle toy - ideas?

Astrid gets hours of enjoyment out of her puzzle ball, and the process of chasing it around the house is a key source of mental and physical exercise. I currently fill it up with a stick of Pupperoni broken off into small chunks. I’m looking for a lower-sodium alternative (she has diabetes insipidus and probably doesn’t need any more reasons to hang out at the water dish.)

I need something that either comes in chunks about the size of my thumb nail, or can be easily broken off into chunks of that size without needing to be cut. A lot of the treats I’m finding that are advertised as lower sodium are jerkies or strips that don’t look like they’ll dispense well. I’m not sure that I need a “low-sodium” treat specifically as probably anything is better than Pupperoni (hey, everything in moderation) but I figured I’d ask if anyone knows of something that might be compatible.

PS - I know that people commonly feed kibble out of puzzle balls. This does not work in my household. If the unit of food is small enough that the ball can dispense more than one of it at a time, I am suddenly exercising my dog and both of my cats, and the dog will just let it happen.

What about the freeze dried chicken treats? They’re pretty small and might fit. If they don’t they can be broken in half.
