Loxley by Bliss of London or Duett Saddles?

The saddle fitter has been out, tracings taken, saddles looked at, and sticker shock wore off now we are down to making the decision. Loxley by Bliss of London is the top saddle the fitter is recommending. There is also Duett Saddles at a price of approximately $1000 less than Loxley. Interested in anyone’s experience with either of these saddles…the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ve been reading the forum on line and needless to say all the information is starting to run together. My guy is a U or hoop tree that’s how we ended up with these two brands without me having to spend a small fortune.

Thanx in advance.

Both are good saddles. The Loxely is more like Black Country. I have ridden in both and have sold both from the shop. The Loxley might be a bit cushier. Are you ordering or going with a saddle that you tried? The Duett seats can run a little small and they will admit that the width sizing can be inconsistent among the saddles so it is helpful to be able to try or stick tracings in one.

I have owned 2 Duetts and will buy another one if needed. Call Nancy at Duett directly and talk turkey with her. She’s terrific to deal with and you can trial any saddle you desire.

Nancy is wonderful and very quick about shipping saddles. When I was trying them, I actually had two at a time. I like my Duett - nice saddle for the price point.

I haven’t seen the Loxley saddles in person, but I trust jaybird’s assessment. The Duetts I have seen and it depends on your preference but I found them to be not the quality I prefer. The sizing really is inconsistent as well. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you for the info. I have heard that before about the Duetts but wanted to see if that person was being bias or if it was fact. The Loxley’s are beautiful saddles. One thing the person said about the Duetts and this is just hear say I’m not trying to bash the saddle company in any way is that the sometimes the panels are not on straight? I have not seen them in person but waiting for Nancy to get back with me on trying one of them. We have shown rated in the past and hope to get there again with this new horse…that is if we can find a saddle to fit him.

We have sold many Duett saddles and that is not a problem. As with most saddle companies, you will see issues from time to time with many things.

I’ve never seen a Duett, but I own a Loxley Jump LX and I love it. Great fit, beautiful craftsmanship and the best balanced saddle I’ve owned. It replaced my Black Country Ricochet that my horse and I outgrew and is comparable. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another Loxley or recommend them.
