Luhmuehlen 2015

Thank you!! He is now in 9th place, because Clark Montgomery is also in front of him. I really hope that everything goes well tomorrow

I could be wrong, but I thought FEI TV will not have replays anymore. I think I remember that from another thread. I got the year membership last year and I won’t renew because of the no replays. Definetly a WTF on FEI TV’s part.[/QUOTE]

If that’s the case, I may cancel now and not wait for Burghley. Part of the whole point is that I can watch later, as I did on USEF for Rolex. Got to see videos of entire rides! Not just jumping back and forth between whoever was on course. I would MUCH rather do that than watch live. And I WILL PAY for it. But not for European time zones only broadcasting live in the wee hours my time, and no replays. The point of technology is to improve convenience!

They have the Rotterdam Nation’s cup up on replay but no Luhmuehlen so far anyways. I wonder why they don’t have replays for the Eventing anymore, they do for all the Nation’s Cups

Going to sleep now but thinking of you, and your nephew, Manni. I hope his horse is well today and that they have a great ride!

You must be so excited for him!

The 4* is over. Manni01’s nephew finished 9th. Klimke won, Jonelle Price was 2nd, Jung was 3rd. and Clark finished 6th. Rebecca Howard finished 10th.

Top eight went double clear sj; top six were also double clear XC.

So so happy that everything went like it was supposed to  And it was a great event!! My husband and son went to watch and to cheer for Niklas

I guess that Jung is running his two at Burghley:

5:09 a.m. EST:*John Kyle confirms that Michael Jung plans to run both La Biosthetique Sam and fischerRocana FST at Burghley!

I guess three 4*s in a year is totally fine for him. Not really impressed.

Congratulations to your nephew Manni01! He must be pleased.

How nice that your guys were able to cheer him on in person.

I wonder how much of it is up to his syndicates/sponsors?

4*'s are not what they used to be with the short format. XC day is now 4+/- miles instead of 17-19 with steeplechase. Big difference.

I think we should let Michael Jung know what is right for his horses and not second guess him.

In the days of the long format, horses were running on fumes by the time SJ rolled around. Those horses needed a long recuperation before being asked for another big effort.

With the short format, asking a horse to run a 4* ever 6 weeks is not abusing the horse if it is fit and managed correctly.

Look at the Triple Crown races. Horses that ran in the Ky Derby and missed the Preakness were considered fresh horses when it came time for the Belmont.

So everyone who is not running a 4* every 6 weeks, is just not managing his/her horse correctly, aha.

The Jung family owns the majority in these horses, and/or is sole owner. No outside pressure to blame.

Very pleased for Rebecca Howard and Rupert (and for his owners and breeders).

Danny, no one is saying you have to run your 4* horses every 6 weeks. You can run all of yours as often as you wish!

Now THAT is so true!!!
I just wonder if the horses wish to be run so often too. I am aware though, just how friutless these discussions are, some riders just don’t care and they are always far more people applauding them, so why should they. Truth is, horses don’t care at all if they have a long life after sports or not, so Jung (and others) are doing it just right.

Get the Chromies in to talk to Jung’s horses …

I find it curious that people who are not privy to a top rider’s training strategy and no access to the horses in question know more what is right than the owner/rider…

Manni,
Did Niklas wear the air vest (on the cross country course) this time?

It does seem like a lot, I am hoping there is something I am missing behind the scenes because I absolutely adore MJ. Maybe he wants the prize money, who knows.
