Anyone know why Sharon and Olivia scratched?

I heard Alex’s horse had an abscess.

Wasn’t Alexa Gartenberg (sp?) supposed to be in the 5* as well for their debut at the level?

Yes! What happened there?

Very impressed with Cosby Green and Mike Winter standing 9th and 15th after XC.

Can anyone who has H&C share their thoughts on how the XC rode?

Interesting that there were more US entries in the 5* than German entries.

Cosby green is sitting 5th and 9th.

There was grumbling about dressage scoring.

This is pretty typical, there are only ever a handful of German entries. The 4* at Luhmuhlen is the German championship, which is why it’s so big.

I don’t entirely understand why they run them the same weekend when the championship takes German priority.

Chiquita from the 4* fell at fence 14C and was euthanized :frowning:

Mike and I have been friends since we were 10 years old. IME, he’s a fabulous human and amazing horseman.

I’m so sorry to hear that.

The course rode really well. All the horses finished looking good other than some injuries.

Fence 8 in the main arena caused a lot of issues. It’s a very angled long one stride jumping close facing the crowd and a few of them didn’t want to jump in and many of them couldn’t make the angle or distance and missed the second fence.

Some other run outs but everything really was a good picture.

Amazing finish by Mike Winter who no longer rides with a whip apparently. Hes an incredible horseman.

Super impressed with Cosby Green and Allison Springer. Allison’s fall was unfortunate but they otherwise looked insane.
