Did Matt Flynn really fall at fence 2? That’s got to be a real blow…

I think that was Dacapo’s first 5* CC. Tell a lie, he had 2xRs at Pau in 2021.

Did notice the lack of Prices http://www.timandjonelle.com/news/luhmuhlen-and-nunney/

Boyd just posted about his rides; said it was his mistake gauging distance at the first water jump on Thomas (“a perfect three and a half strides” haha)

Link isn’t working but it’s on his Instagram

London 52 was very sticky going into one of the waters and it certainly looked like a near refusal…and just barely scrambled over the log in…Laura looked like she saved it with her sheer determination.

well, I dithered all week about whether or not to buy in. I had to ask google what time it would be here when it was 9:30 am in Germany. I was horrified to see it would be 2:30 am! I wasn’t tired so I ended up staying up all night, and signing up about 2 am. I watched the little picture of Luhmuelen count down to zero, and clicked on it which is what I have done with many events in the past but it didn’t work. I checked and was told I hadn’t paid. I didn’t get things straightened out till the end of Boyd’s ride. So I sat and watched, and my very slow computer kept reloading, and jumping around. And then I ended up dozing off and missed Boyd’s second ride entirely. They barely mentioned Tami’s ride till they told us she had retired, but not where or why. I did see Matt’s fall. It looked to me like he pecked on landing, but I was half asleep so who knows?
My connection is very bad and always slow but last night it was the worst ever. I have a small house but there are two walls between the modum and the laptop. So, watching Boyd’s last ride, was a combination of slow motion and jumpy screenshots. What a mess. I doubt seriously that I will make it live to show jumping. ugh

Tamie posted that California has a “puncture wound that created a fracture” which hopefully sounds worse than it is.

No Michael Jung?

He doesn’t usually go with the five star the four stars the national championship so that’s probably where he is

Not listed.

I was asking the same question about Michael Jung. He’s not at Luhmuhlen period this year, though I swear he was in the first released entries for the 4*. He ran all his horses last month at other events around Germany and Poland and was show jumping last weekend.

I asked about Michael Jung recently and I think someone linked to the Luhmuhlen entries and he was listed. I don’t know if it was the 4* or the 5*. Maybe his plans changed.

I think that was DACAPO with the very sticky fence at the first water, and she retired him later after 2 refusals at the angled brushes in the ring.

London 52 had a great go (per her Instagram). :sunglasses:

I just got arond to watching the early coverage, and I see I missed nothing on Thomas’s ride as they showed nothing till the end. It is a shame anyone has to ride before or after Oliver becase they get no coverage.

Girl power! Women swept the podium- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd!

yay!! and Laura Collett with a 6.9 margin!

top 6 finished on their dressage scores.

I believe this was the first 5* for Boyd’s Luke 140

very impressive

edited to say that I did not notice the 0.4 time for 2nd and 3rd so top 6 did not finish exactly on their dressage scores

Yes! Both Luke and Bruno’s first 5*s, and they finished 4th and 8th, respectively.

Bruno (Fedarman B) was Annie Goodwin’s advanced horse, who we lost nearly 2 years ago. He’s been competing him in her memory. Her parents sent him to compete with Boyd after she tragically lost her life.

Just finishing up the replay of XC. What happened with Lea Siegl and DSP Fighting Line? They didn’t show much of her round, but she looked to be “pulled up” after a scrappy combination through the water.

Scores show Retired with no penalties on course. It almost looked like a family member or coach signaled for her to stop (didn’t look like an official, but who knows),

Haven’t seen anything quite like it.

Absolute shame about Matt Flynn. The horse just did a last minute pat the ground and twisted him off the saddle mid air. When he pecked on landing it was done.
