For many years all one had to do was open a racing news article & you’d be almost guaranteed to see Lukas being talked/written about.
Then he sort of faded to the shadows.
He’s popped up now & again over the years, but he seems to have put together a nice string of horses for the 2022 racing season.
He never been shy about voicing his opinion….
All of that garbage coming from a “Legendary trainer” who is a member of the HBPA, the group that is suing to try to stop HISA. Sorry buddy, you don’t impress me as someone that cares about the future of TB racing.

I recently found the book Three Strides Before the Wire in a used bookstore and found it was a fascinating read. It provides an in-depth look into Lukas (and, primarily, into Chris Antley), and it was a reminder of how much the arrival of former QH racing training into TB racing changed things. Baffert’s arrival on the TB scene is also well documented. You can pick up a used copy for a couple of dollars if you’re interested.
