I do not like Hugh Turner’s use of stick.
I like that he laid the stick on. That was correct.
I do not like that he WHALED on that horse with an overarm use of the stick.

Grrr yes that made me so mad

Agreed. Especially after the second refusal when it was clearly over and the horse was already quite unglued, that presented as much more of a borderline abusive tantrum than a measured correction. Poor display of horsemanship.
I think it was abuse of the horse. Period. And yes, the second instance was a tantrum. The horse went left. You don’t beat it on the right side if you are using the stick as a correction.
You’re in the Maclay Horsemanship class, for Pete’s sake.
When Jacob Pope’s horse walked into the ring at medal finals at Harrisburg, took one look at the ring, and stood straight up five steps into his opening circle, he did not beat it with the stick. He sat on it calmly, let it process for a moment, and went on to have a credible round, and the horse learned something that day.
Shame for Makena Brombach if the judges saw her cross the line, that wasn’t a bad trip.
Her horse looks fun- really keen fellow.
Tessa Downey’s horse might be one of my favorite equitation horses :love-struck:
Also- does anyone know if Zayna Rizvi rode Finnick or Acer K? I missed her trip.
Yes! It just lopes along like a big cute pony and looks sweet through the bridle.
Wow - Luke Jensen’s horse Ironman is six years old. Anyone know the breeding on that horse? That one was born with good sense and is a testament to his parents, and to Luke’s compassionate riding. What a lovely fellow!
Acer K
USEF says he’s 7, but still! Sire: VITTORIO
Dam: ELEGANCE
Adeline Pavlin just demonstrated proper use of the stick and good strong riding.
I’m just here to say I’m grateful for Ava’s poised and valuable commentary. It’s a bright spot for me today!
She didn’t look taken aback by that horse’s rearing, either. I suspect it’s not the first time she’s encountered that evasion from him.
Does anyone have the most recent standby list?

I feel like we’re seeing the lack of Regionals. It’s not that the course is winning- I love the course- but not everyone is well equipped to be here right now.
Alexa Aureliano was just very good.
Agree. So many rails and swaps.
Any idea how I would find rounds of particular riders? The order of go doesn’t appeared to have been followed.
