Can I just say how much I appreciate all of you on this forum? I look forward to the Eq Finals every year, but they’ve been so much more fun and I’ve learned so much since I joined the conversations here.
The Jessie Award. Amen.
Likewise! And you are all invited to my house next year, if you find yourself in the area. A legit COTH watch party would be a lot of fun.
Mckayla Langmeier went first and won.
Oddly, if Audrey wins I would guess that means the first spot has had the most winners of any in the order.
Based on the conversation above, I think there should be a group cookie order for next year.
I’ll take a snickerdoodle, please!
Thank you! She was who I was thinking of going second, but clearly, I’m out of coffee.
You’re not wrong. If you all come over, I’ll bake.
Taylor StJaques (sp?) did, but that could have been the Medal—I get them confused after a few years.
Alex Dunaif went first and won
IIRC, McKayla LEAD throughout the whole thing which I’M not sure has been done before or since.
Yes, I think you’re right. It was incredible.
Did she stay on top all day?
If so, this would make the first time that somebody went first but did not lead all day before the win, if that’s what happens.
I thought she did, I thought I read one of the judges (Mclain? No idea) saying they saw her go and thought “oh no the course is too easy, she did it perfectly” and it turned out she just led all day long.

I hope they have a giant container of carrots at the out gate for all those horses. And maybe a cooler full of beer for the grooms.
Agreed. All of these horses were so beautifully turned out all day. The grooms did an incredible job!
Hold on, they brought those kids in but they don’t actually get a ribbon?
At least they got to take a picture.
Yeah, I’m confused as they called Layla Kurbanov as reserve at first?
…yay?
I mean, I’m a self-proclaimed ribbon ho, but I’d like to get my horse unbraided and wrapped vs stand for a picture with a ribbon that doesn’t exist…
