Maclay Finals

Could someone please post the link to watch? I can’t find it. Thanks

Was that remark made to the gray horse who lost his rider and his bridle? I had just come back in with the dog to see them walking out.

If I had been the rider and felt that my horse had been rotten in the moment, I think I might find it validating to know that Anne Kursinski agreed. “Little devil” is a bit of an affectionate way to chide a horse.

Taylor and Daisy are a little lower than I expected them to be.

Ditto.

I looked up horse #135, the gray pinto. I thought it looked like an Irish Sport Horse and I was right- KWPN sire and IDSH dam. Interestingly marked horse and looked willing. Not your typical equitation horse, but would take that one home.

I know it probably doesn’t matter much because they are pretty far down list, but they keep announcing that Breanna Bunevacz is # 53 not Lilly McLellan !?!

nevermind! They’re both on the list–I’ll get more coffee now…

Yea, Haley Redifer broke my heart, too!

It looked like Adam Edgar didn’t have the inside turn planned at all- the outside turn looked like a deliberate choice. What a shame!

Emma Catherine Reichow just did a very nice job of riding quietly but with determination on a horse who seemed doubtful about whether or not he truly wanted to be here today. I loved seeing that he looked more confident towards the end than he started. Very expressive horse.

Only 41 greys! You could have fooled me!
But I guess I’m in good company!

UUUUUGH! I was getting ready to get to my feet and WHOOP for Sam Walker! UUUUUUUUUGH.

Same here. Uuugh.

Next rider, George: Not a very co-operative horse. Ya think?

Love the first black fence - very classy fence.

Again, my feed is a little choppy- it looked to me like Sam’s horse just stumbled. One of those things. Though when he was trotting out it seemed that one of the straps on his boot might have come loose. Did anyone see better than I?

Forgive my ignorance, but what’s a stand-by list?

Sam just didn’t have enough there. So unfortunate because his ride had been beautiful.

Same. I had already warned my dog so I wouldn’t spook him.

But Sam is only 15, and this is the first time at the finals for both Sam and that horse. He’ll be back.

very much worth the price for a free clinic from Anne and George!

I noticed the horse’s bootstraps when he came in–I think they just had a long bite.

Those who are called back for Day 2 tomorrow.
