Rushing?
I interpret it as getting there too soon
I think that expression is more reflective of the rider overdoing it or chasing the horse to a fence or down a line.
Not so much rushing in the sense that the horse anticipates or overdoes it.
Iâve been thinking the same thing. Iâm guessing it may have originated with her trainers, since both Ava and Zayna seem to use it, and they rode with the same barn.
Unless Zayna just picked it up from Ava today. Lol.
In my opinion it look like Charisma has lost a little bit of his scope button and he hesitated leaving the ground.
My husband just walked downstairs as the last rider turned down to the rainbow box and said âwhy are they jumping a Crayola box?â
This perhaps serves @Darkwaveâs point.
Honestly, I wish more course designers would pay attention to that aspect in all three rings. Sometimes the jumps are so built up that the judges can hardly see across the ring.
It reminded me I needed to pick up some paint chips when I was at the hardware store this afternoon. Unfortunately I think they were some I already have. Guess my choice is going to be one of those.
For those who missed it earlier, they were saying that there was a contest for the students at the Savannah College of Art and Design to create some jumps for this class, with the winning jumps being incorporated into the course.
So maybe thatâs why some of these obstacles look a little different.
Edited to add: They just said the two winners from the SCAD design contest were jumps 9 and 12 (the last jump).
I canât decide if the jump I most want to have set up in our ring is that beautiful triple bar painted to look like a stone wall overgrown with clematis, or the stairstep faux brush.
I love the active ears on Skylar Gurtisâs horse.
It seems like there have been multiple Skylars in the class today. Is that a common name now?
âYou sure about that, Mom? It looks like Rainbow Brite. Youâre sure? Okay, I guess. I see it, I got you.â
Iâd like to see what the triple bar looks like from the front.
Weâve gotten a couple of glimpses, and the paint is the same front and back. Hereâs a pic the Chronicle took that gives a closer look. ETA I guess itâs roses, not clematis. You can probably tell what Iâve got doing a late fall bloom right now!
Not sure on Skylar, but watching these classes in 2017 and seeing how many kids were named Isabel (or some variant) is part of the reason that isnât my daughterâs name now.
I think Skylar is a modern spelling of the name Schuyler just as Makayla or McKayla is an americanization of the Irish name Michaela, the feminine form of Michael.
Cool, thanks!
Edited to add: Is that Maddie Tosh in the picture? I think she is the only one I remember on such a dark gray horse.
They were supposed to be on the flat phase by 3:50
Wait how long does this go on???
