Maclay finals

She was great, huh?
I work for her family and it’s nice to see her getting a good end to her junior years.

I don’t know if this was actually the case, but Alex’s whole ride just felt rushed to me.

Blink twice if you are.

Good Lord, Stella’s horse is way lame

Nope, this is his last year. But that is a hot, hot horse and he does an excellent job keeping the cork in the bottle.

But I do agree with you, he does seem to suffer under pressure. Hope he gets it done today.

Yes, I love someone coming in with a bold pace, but you can’t be so bold you sacrifice the jumps. It wasn’t egregious by any means, but he did have 2 jumps where the horse went over his front end. Loved the track and the attitude, though.

Stella did a good job shaping that 5 to make it work really seamlessly.

The first few had nothing to lose coming back from that position, and everything to gain.

I wonder if they are keeping an eye on this thread, since Ava just clarified that the hand gallop is not on the course. Lol.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that

Ava, compared to you, I am an old. Zayna rides a damn good hand gallop. But Jessie Springsteen had the best hand gallop OF ALL TIME!

Did her stirrups look flat work length? Seemed like she wasn’t as secure in the air as she usually is.

That flyer into the triple kind of marred that whole line for Kate Egan. There have been enough really good trips that I think she’ll move down.

I was just discussing with my cat, and we agree.

Tessa’s horse is adorable!

She is a beautiful rider.

Not on the first try, as I recall. Practice makes perfect.

Oh yes, I recall a Big Miss at Medal finals one year

She didn’t specify which year

Yes, Jessie had a disaster at Harrisburg when on top, then clearly went home and practiced hand galloping jumps for the next year!

That’s one of the reasons I think it was so impressive that she laid down the gauntlet that way. The first time didn’t scare her off of going for it the second time.
