Magnesium Malate Powder

While I love Performance Equine Nutrition’s customer service, I have a hard time justifying the expense of MagRestore. Has anyone tried regular Magnesium Malate purchased from a health food store? I found powdered Mg Malate on vitacost.com for much less than MagRestore. From what I understand, MagRestore (in powdered form) is human grade Magnesium Malate.

check out this article… can be done much cheaper than MagRestore. (which I believe is actually Di-magnesium malate.)

The Getty link is discussing Mag Oxide which is not the same as Magnesium Malate.

I also hate spending the money on MagRestore. Thankfully I only feed it to once horse and even more thankfully, he only needs half of the recommended daily dose to bring out on a daily basis, the good natured horse I used to only see fleeting glimpses of:)

Plus he is 23, an easy keeper and a Tennessee Walker. I already have one Walking Horse with insulin resistance; if the MagRestore also helps in that department, it is well worth the investment.

That means I will stick with MagRestore — if it works ----don’t fix it:)

I use MagRestore also, and have wondered if there was a less expensive alternative but have not seen anything out there

I do not know how much MagRestore costs, but I buy Di-magnesium Malate on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IUA2GRG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2PLP4BOVOPKB4&th=1

^^^ This is the same price as MagRestore.

LUSOLUV–Is it the same price if you are Prime (free shipping)?

Really, I shop Amazon so often that I might as well buy stock (that I think is now near $1K per share.)

What is the difference between Mg Oxide and Mg Maleate? Is one better absorbed than the other?
