Advanced-level Eventer Katie Wherley 1:30-2:30
Katie’s strong work ethic and dedication to her horses is the driving force behind Rock Solid Training. She began competing at the age of 12 and quickly progressed to the Preliminary level by age 14 and Intermediate by age 20. She is a graduate “A” pony clubber. Katie will talk about how she keeps her horses performing at their best.
Saddle Fitter Prudence Heany 2:30-3:30
Prudence’s business Two Time Tack was created in 1989 because of the experience Serendipity, her young horse, who exhibited behavior problems and physical damage caused by an ill-fitting saddle. She is dedicated to our equine friends so they can serve us stress and pain free. Prudence, of the American Institute of Saddle Fitting, will discuss the mechanics of saddle fitting and the importance of regular fit checkups and saddle maintenance. A demonstration will be part of this.
Farrier Joe Hubschman 3:30-4:30
Joe began his career early, apprenticing with experienced farriers and then attending horse shoeing school. At the same time he was competing in the Level 6 jumpers. He has shod horses from coast to coast. Joe will talk about keeping the performance horse not only sound, but feeling his best. The importance of proper fit, balance and attention to the horse’s shoeing needs in different seasons will also be discussed.
