I haven’t, but I’ve read about it in a lot of different places for tough joins of things! Might be worth a try?
If it breaks, we’ll just say it was an intentional break-away tie to keep the horses safe in all seriousness though, I wouldn’t think it would be the end of the world if it broke for that exact reason. (sorry to derail the thread!)

Here’s an “anatomic” bucket:
The owner has purchased new rubber buckets for the water. DH will be tackling the project this weekend. I am not sure if he is going to tack weld the look, JB weld the look or what. Either way he will recoat the loops with Plastic Dip. That is a product for recoating handles on pliers.
I will update in a few weeks to let everyone know how it goes.
I have these buckets. They work great for feed, not so great for water.
