Managing back pain

My horse was recently diagnosed with scoliosis and unfortunately my saddle plus this is causing him some soreness between his ribs and spine on his right side.

Saddle fitter came out and is fixing my saddle - re flocking to his measurements
unfortunately this is going to take a bit due to her traveling etc.
In the meantime Does anyone have a half pad recommendation that really absorbs shock? That you’ve had help your back sore horse?

Also what’s the best way to keep him comfortable and to relieve his tight back. He sees a chiro and does stretches daily. Vet is going to do miso therapy next time he’s out as well.

I’m looking into a Niagara equissage unit - thoughts? Any other “systems” you feel actually help with a tight/sore back?

Any suggestions help! I just want to keep him comfortable!

Definitely the mesotherapy - and staying on top of that. If you can afford it, shockwave + mesotherapy seems to be the best therapeutic measure against back pain. I personally would pick that over regular chiro, if funds are a concern. Mesotherapy is not something you need to do every month. It depends on the horse, some horses can go 8+ months between visits, some less. It helps to put hind shoes, IME, on horses with back pain - and also put them on a joint supplement.

Different issue, but I use Thinline for my horse with kissing-spine. I think sheepskin directly on the back + the Thinline has mitigated the most concussion.

Make sure you have more than one opinion on the saddle; I have BTDT, got the t-shirt with a saddle that fit on paper that was still causing physical discomfort to the horse.
