Mane/Tail Regrowth Magic Serum?

Does anyone have a magical shampoo/conditioner/serum/spray/etc that helps hair regrowth on the mane and tail? I posted on here before, and talked of pin worms vs. fungal etc. I’ve been bathing him with a anti-fungal shampoo. I’ve also been putting an all natural creme on the areas, but it isn’t helping the hair regrowth. I did treat him for pin worms, just in case. He is no longer itchy, but the top of his tail looks pathetic and very thin. He also has a spot on his mane that is naked.

Any magical remedies to help stimulate hair growth?

He is on a platinum pack with omega mixed into a purina sr. feed along with ample, good quality hay.

If there was such a thing, I’m sure Pfizer would have been all over it by now

That being said, MTG “works” for some. I just like it as a detangler/conditioner. Brittle hair breaks easier.

MTG works okay. . . I like to use the all lycra tail bags when I’m trying to grow a tail. . They still allow for fly swatting, but no velcro means no pulled hairs. I typically just keep it well conditioned and keep the top of the tail clean to make sure they aren’t rubbing an itchy tail head. After that it is just patience!

I guess I should mention I condition his tail pretty often. It’s long enough I have to trim (not overly thick) and pretty. It’s just the top of the tail and the spot on his mane that are naked. :frowning:

My favorite go-to’s include olive oil spray and coconut oil. The olive oil spray can be found in the ethnic aisle of your Dollar Tree. There are two, detangler and Sheen. I have both. I use the detangler daily, and the sheen, as well, a sheen, duh

The coconut oil is what really nourishes my horse’s mane and tail and helps with growth. I apply coconut oil in copious amounts and let it sit. Sometimes I ride while it is soaking into his mane and tail. It’s messy, but the longer you let it sit, the better. Then bathe as normal. There is also a coconut oil hair product that Dollar Tree sells as a leave in treatment. If you go to my blog (in sig line–June 24th is the date it was posted) I once did a post about equine hair care. It really did help with growth for my pony mare, and now my OTTB’s hair woes. My mare was kind of just a freak of nature with how quickly she grew hair, but my OTTB is a good measure of progress. I’ve had him since April, and he had his tail banged just above the hock (eeee!) and now we’re about an inch below the hock. I feel like without my hair care regiment we would barely be equal to the hock right now. YMMV but it’s worth a shot, all stuff that is good for the hair anyway!

Eqyss mega-tek hair rebuilder, dilute it into a spray bottle with water and spray it on daily. I swear by this stuff for helping hair regrowth. Make sure to get the conditioner rebuilder, not the gel.

Many years ago I had a pump spray liquid that I used on my horse’s tail. It smelled awful, like a house on fire, but the rubbed out hair came back fast. I found out later that it was a product that black people used on their hair to condition it and help it grow — my friend said that it was called dog mane. She said kids at school would tease you about it, the smell was so distinctive that everyone knew your mom had put it on your hair. The bottle I had was a commercial equine product, and I haven’t seen it advertised for years. But if you can find a bottle of dog mane it would be worth trying.
