Manolo Mendez In-Hand DVD - reviews?

Does anyone have this DVD? Is it helpful even if you haven’t taken clinics with Manolo Mendez?

I’m not sure what I think of this guy I’m a little sceptical of him. I’ve watched the stuff online and read some of the articles and it seems like ok stuff buy kinda heads towards too fluffy for my liking.

I have the DVD. I like it just fine but I think I would “get it” better if I did an in-person clinic with him. I don’t find it fluffy at all. He’s got a very good eye and sees and talks about how musculature develops depending on how the horse has been ridden or what sort of work he’s done. I find the bamboo harder to use than just a regular whip so when I do my ground work I use either a dressage whip or a driving whip or a lunge whip. He seems to be about getting the horse to use his body properly for maximum soundness.

I purchased the Vimeo version, which I was told is the same content as the DVD.

I think it can be helpful for certain horses. For instance, when I first got the videos, they helped my Appy mare quite a bit. However, I’ve reviewed them again, and I’m not getting the same results with the WB filly I have now (she isn’t as responsive to the cues to stretch while in movement). Overall, I think they’re worth the price they’re on sale for right now.
