Video clips from the games are beginning to show up on Youtube (www.youtube.com). Search for “2008 olympics equestrian”.
Hope I can get to see some. Still can’t get any of the videos off the NBC Olympic site nor the live stream to load. Their little commercial plays, then nothing…or the message about it being unable to load. Just can’t figure it out.
Thanks Frank! I went to utube and watched Karen and the others I missed.
Showmom-I finally did the Silverlight plug in and everything worked after that, but I really enjoyed the utube version too. There are some hints on the other thread about live streaming video so maybe that will help.
What creative jumps!! Very well done.
thanks for posting
Looks like they were taken off. I don’t get it, they were taken by the perosn who was there and not off the computer.
When is this all going to stop?
What else is new

What else is new. I had over 1100 video’s removed, because I posted a video with the name OS2008. It also was a private video, but all the videoproviders like YouTube, Viddler, Dailymotion, Myspace etc are wetting their pants these last weeks.

Is there a way to create a website to post your videos so when NBC has a hissy fit about your private videos (or anyone else who submits it and they have to be private not taken off the NBC’s video) you can tell them to kiss off?

Yes I am doing that right now.
It seems that NBC or CBC or BBC or or or or, don’t have to ask my permission to broadcast the music and choreogreaphy that I made for the riders
Never the less I have upgraded my web-account to 6500 GB of diskspace and unlimited bandwidth, so I can go my own way, decide my own quality and play it by my own rules. etc…etc…

This is starting to piss me off… I wanted to watch some of the equestrian events, but unfortunantly I work, and can’t be up at 2 am
The NBC site DOES NOT WORK with non intell Macs… so I am SOL. No live feed, no videos, the schedule doesn’t even work…
And well, to continue to afford the best of care for my horse, in tough economic times (I work in the real estate industry in CA, I am FEELING this recession!), I cancelled cable, and now have basic… so no oxygen channel.:o
GRRRRRRR I would like to watch a little more of the games, then just beach volley ball (really, you have to show all of the heats?! Is this just because they are in bikinis?), swimming (replayed and replayed!!!), and men’s basket ball (yes yes, I get it, the US pros beat china)…
If the US isn’t winning seems like it doesn’t get much coverage.
Reminds me of Rolex
Same thing happened with Rolex…
Someone paid a lot of money to have exclusive rights to the Olympic Games and does not appreciate a mere spectator posting his/her video. Sad, but probably the reason.

Thank you so much for posting here about youtube. Looks like it’s the only way I’ll get to see any of the equestrian competitions.

I think I know how you feel. You sound so much like me. I got rid of all but basic cable last year because I just couldn’t afford it anymore. I have only basic cable now because there’s no antenna reception where I live. And I have dial-up Internet, so can’t watch the live streams or whatever they’re called. So I’m stuck watching half-naked women playing beach volleyball, swimmers with their pants about to fall off, and all this repeated over and over and over again. Why, oh why, does NBC cover so many things over and over again and not show the “good stuff” at all? For that matter, why do the women play BV half naked and the men play clothed? Watching half-naked women is not my idea of a good way to spend the day. Now a bunch of fully clothes equestrians and horses? THAT I’d watch happily!
Every Olympic year I mean to write the network and ask them to please show more events and every year I forget. Oh, well. Guess I should move to the UK. They apparently have horses on TV.

Ahh yes, you sound like you know me well!
One year my husband and I (he is a cycling fan) spent an August in the netherlands. The TV was great! TONs of horse events, jumper derbys, all kinds of cool stuff. And needless to say every where we went the tour de france was on TV. It was super!
I just can’t believe they are REPLAYING events… when so many aren’t shown at all! Show me a sport I never heard of, just not basket ball again!!
Is anybody recording the broadcasts in DVD format? My DVDograph is play only. Maybe a list could be compiled and a few copies sent around by snail-mail.

(Hope this works!) NBC’s new logo
I don’t get these channels but have my stepmother “trying” to get most things recorded for me. That will be in VHS format, but I am already planning to take those several tapes (56 hours, I think, if all recorded?) to a conversion place and have them both edited (all non horse events cut out) and converted to a nice DVD or two of pure horses. A friend is sharing the cost of this edit down and conversion with me as she wants a copy and can’t get the channels either.
I’m not sure if stepmother will be able to get all broadcasts, although I know she got cross-country last night, but what she can get, I will eventually have a nice DVD and non-cluttered-with-other-junk copy.
Heres one of the dentist and Marius on Cross Country. Its in German? but you get to see almost his whole course.
ohhhh… Thank You. Nice video clip of the winning ride!! on a relaxed rein dare say! LOVELY.

I’d watch it quick, because it’ll most likely get yanked because of copyright infringement. It was clearly taped off the TV broadcast, not by someone at the event (which I believe is the difference from youtube’s and the copyright owner’s perspective).
I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but copyright holders of special events tend to be very, very protective.
That’s from German National TV. They probably also have rights to broadcast and are not as pissy about it as our mass media.
