Mapping/mileale app for phone

Does anyone have a good mapping app for their Android phone. My friend has Equi-Trail for her iphone and it’s great. I have several apps that will track my mileage and route, but they don’t allow me to “drop pins” to save locations to a map.

Thanks!

Gallopica?

I like Map My Tracks, which you can set up for any kind of activity (riding, biking, running, etc). I’m not sure if you have the ability to drop pins in it or not - I’ve never tried.

Gallopica looks interesting. Not available for Droids, though.

Does anyone know if Endomondo or Map my Tracks allow the user to drop pins? I have Map my Run, which can be used while I ride, but I can’t drop pins to mark locations.

Thanks for everyone’s help.

I like Alltrails (previously Everytrail). But I mostly use Road ID, because it will notify my husband (or whoever) if I go still for five minutes with my gps coordinates. I ride alone a lot.

I also use RoadID for the safety aspects. I don’t think you can drop a pin on it.

I use the Gaia GPS app

if you want to drop a pin, it may be worth investing in a handheld GPS since that is fairly basic functionality, AND you can save your phone battery for important things! (and a handheld goes a good long time on batteries, which is not something I can say for a smart phone actively tracking with GPS)

I have an old Garmin Etrex, but the screen is pretty small and it’s not as user friendly as the smartphone apps. That said, my GPS is nearly 15 years old. Are there any great models on the market now?

I ran into this the other day as I was contemplating getting a new one

I love Endomondo! I’ve been using it for years! I like to compete with my friends :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, thanks for your calculation of the numerical value of an expression! We definitely know there are loads of incredible route applications for when you have an information reminder or data connection. However, imagine a scenario in which you need your GPS area when you’re disconnected or offline. Google Maps offers an approach to download and spare local maps for disconnected use—you simply need to complete a little readiness before you leave home. Offline GPS is a fundamental element for any maps application. You’ll utilize it in case you’re investigating a remote city and have information or data wandering turned off, or if you drive into a no man’s land during an excursion or road trip.
