How unusual is this?

At least they aren’t in the same race.

Get Set is in race 6 at 3:55.

Enthusiastic Gal is in race 9 at 5:45.

Now that I know their story, I’ll be watching.

That’s a hoot.

I honestly never thought about the potential benefits of breeding a mid-level mare while laid up, then returning her to race…

I never would have considered it before reading this. I would have just retired her.

Unfortunately her 2yo was scratched. I hope she’ll be racing later.

Enthusiastic Gal finished 4th in her AOC.

I think I’m the only person following this.

Now we’re all following this.

Based on the chart, it looks like she was barely a length off the winner.

I hope kiddo has a long and successful career ahead of him.

The mare ran a very good race against a strong field. That was a good 4th.

What a cool story! And, an interesting approach with the mare as well. Thanks for posting this!

Good story, but not sure I agree with his science,

“That’s common knowledge way back to Ronald Reagan,” said Imbesi, laughing. “I have some doctor friends, and we talk, and it was pretty clear to me that a pregnant mare, as well as a pregnant woman, will manufacture stem cells with the fetus. The stem cells caused by the fetus will cure any ills the dam might have."
